Twenty years in HR and organizational development inside high-pressure industries teaches you something. The technical side always has a plan. The human side is almost always left to chance.

I built my career primarily in construction and oil and gas, working at the intersection of people and performance through mergers, divestitures, workforce development, and complex leadership transitions. In every environment, the work that determined whether things succeeded was the work least likely to have a plan behind it.
